Men’s Dress Shirts Fabrics Sets
In my research of vintage quilt blocks and quilt tops (ebay), I have adored seeing the use of men’s dress shirts in many of the pieces / designs.
We have a very nice GOODWILL store near our home. The excellent quality of what is donated to this store is mind-blowing to me, including the inventory of men’s dress shirts. Inspired by the vintage quilt blocks/tops I have seen lately, I have been wanting to create in similar ways with similar materials… like going back in time, revisiting history.
The tediousness of going through their large inventory, choosing the colors and patterns of shirt fabrics that will work well together (I have a partiality toward Americana - red, white, blue) can be overwhelming. The deconstruction of the shirts, the ironing of the fabric and the cutting into various shapes and sizes takes oodles of time!
From the initial inventory of shirts I have purchased / gathered, I have created 5 sets each of 5” x 5” fabric pieces and 5 sets of 2” x 2” fabric pieces. And, since the initial creation & listing of those sets, I have found 6 additional shirt fabrics that went well, so I added them into the sets. You can find them for sale in my Etsy shop, just click the orange ETSY logo at the bottom of any of my webpages here.
My opinion, they are a bargain and I’m almost hesitant to part with them. Get them while you can….. before I change my mind….. or raise the pricing.
